About us

A very warm welcome to the Canterbury Health Hub

Who are we and what can we offer?

We are a small dedicated team of people working in association with The People’s Health Alliance to set up a health hub for the benefit of our local community members. We passionately believe in creating health rather than treating disease and are working hard to establish a ‘health hub’ in the Canterbury area where our community can meet to obtain help, support & treatment for health issues. Watch this space for updates on progress and in the meantime feel free to explore our site to obtain access to helpful health information and perhaps contact practitioners in your area.

Our Vision

A supportive community where the People have the power to make informed health choices by access to a variety of educational resources and a comprehensive range of practitioners.

Our Mission

To provide an environment where the men, women, boys and girls of our community can heal body, mind and spirit through intuition and by working alongside a range of talented practitioners.

Our Values

We are pro-choice. We treat all others with respect for their very personal journeys and experiences. Our facilities and resources are available to all members of our community.

Our Principles

As part of the PHA our principles align very closely with theirs. We strive to;

  1. Do no harm.
  2. Treat everyone with respect.
  3. Act in the best interest of our clients and colleagues.
  4. Work collaboratively and communicate effectively.
  5. Take responsibility for actions.
  6. Respect all others as equals.
  7. Remain lawful.
  8. Empower people to take responsibility for their own health.
  9. Commit to self-improvement and learning new things.
  10. Always do our best for ourselves and others.
  11. Embrace an integrated approach.

FAQs

No – not yet. We are working hard to finalise arrangements with Manor Barn as they have kindly offered us the use of their facilities. Please look at their website for more information.

We are not competing with any other organisation but instead seek to complement existing services and work collaboratively where possible.

We are aware of the waiting times for the NHS and wish to offer support for those requiring help with health issues.

We do have a range of emergency alternative health options but for medical emergencies we urge you to call 999 and seek help from the NHS.

In the event of delays there are NHS ‘walk-in’ centres located in Folkestone, Canterbury, Faversham & Whitstable.

When a therapist registers with the PHA they are required to evidence their Qualifications and Insurance. These details are also taken before a therapist can practice at The Manor Barn.

We would always recommend that you carry out your own due diligence when meeting a practitioner for the first time. A reputable therapist will always be happy to provide any credentials requested to put your mind at rest.

You can book an appointment with a therapist directly using the ‘Practitioner Directory‘ on the PHA site. There is a little more information on our ‘Practitioners‘ page.

No. Absolutely not. Your relationship is directly with your therapist who will discuss with you any information they hold that is required in the course of your treatment.

No. None whatsoever. Our funding comes from independent means and we are free of corporate sponsors and political interests alike.

As a member of a community hub your contact details will be listed in the Practitioner Directory, giving you access to patients looking for your services. You will work in an ethical, patient-focused primary care setting with others pursuing the same vision.  All services will be supported equally – conventional medicine will work alongside holistic therapies – to offer a true integrated approach to health. You are also welcome to become involved in developing your local hub.
